Mirage Endoscopy Center

Patient Information

Where is Mirage Endoscopy located?

We are located at 39935 Vista del Sol Road, Suite 101 in Rancho Mirage.

Why do I have two appointment times?
To ensure we provide a comfortable and efficient experience for all of our patients, you will receive an arrival time and a procedure time. The arrival time is usually 40 minutes before your procedure time. This provides an opportunity to complete paperwork, address any questions or concerns you may have, complete your pre-procedure assessment and make sure you are relaxed and comfortable before your procedure.

Can I take medication before my procedure?
Before your appointment date, your physician will discuss any medications you should take or avoid before your procedure. Please contact your doctor directly if you have any questions or concerns about medication before your procedure.

How do I prepare for my procedure?
Your physician will go over pre-op instructions in detail with you. In general, you will need to refrain from eating or drinking prior to your procedure except for prep medication as directed by your physician.   Dress comfortably on the day of your appointment. If you have any questions or concerns about how to prepare for your appointment, please contact your physician.

What do I need to bring?
You must bring a photo ID and current insurance cards to your appointment. You must also bring a form of payment for any copayments, coinsurance, deductibles or other balances due at the time of service. Please leave your valuables at home.

How long does the procedure take?
Generally, the procedure will be finished around 45 minutes to one hour from your scheduled procedure time.

What should I expect after the procedure?
After your procedure, you may feel drowsy or tired. Many patients will want to rest after the procedure due to the effects of the medications used in moderate sedation.

Can I drive after the procedure?
No. You must bring a driver with you to your appointment, as you will not be able to drive for 24 hours following the procedure. Your driver should arrive with you and can wait in our comfortable lobby until your procedure is complete. The total procedure time is approximately 45 minutes to one hour, and your driver must be present in order to complete your discharge. If you do not have a driver, you will need to make arrangements with a medical transport service.

Can I go back to work after the procedure?
Almost all of our patients receive sedation for their procedure. If you receive sedation, you will be instructed to stay home, rest and refrain from driving for the remainder of the day. You may return to your normal activities the following day, unless directed otherwise by your physician.

Can I eat and drink after the procedure?
You may eat and drink following the procedure; however, you should not consume alcohol for 24 hours following your appointment.

How long will it take to get my results?
You will receive a preliminary report before leaving our center after your procedure. A full pathology report generally takes between 48 and 72 hours. Please contact your physician for more information about obtaining your results.
